Heyco Products, Inc. announced that its Snap-In ratcheting strain relief product (PN 1280) is now removable. According to the company, the newly designed component can be easily removed through insertion of standard snap ring pliers with .040” tips (Heyco PN 0054) into the holes located on the outside of the part.
In addition to being removable, the part is billed as "assembly friendly;" it self locks directly onto the cable and can be preassembled offline for final assembly at a later time, or remote location at a lower installed cost.
Currently available for one hole size (.875 with .770 flats), the removable strain relief is UL recognized under file E15331 and installs with fingertip pressure into a standard round or Double “D” hole. A wire locking ratchet allows for wire ranges from .115” (2.9 mm) to .575” (14.6 mm). The part can be used for one or multiple round or flat wire cables.
Typical applications include wire harnesses, aeronautical/aerospace, computers and related equipment, household appliances, telecommunications, industrial equipment, automotive, medical equipment, motors and generators, and scientific instruments.
