Berkshire Hathaway-owned TTI Inc. has acquired UK-based Flightspares Electronics Ltd., a specialty distributor of interconnect products for railway, military, and aerospace markets. Among other product lines, Flightspares distributes Tyco Electronics goods in the UK and Ireland.
"This acquisition strengthens our approach to growing our connector business, especially with Tyco Electronics, and the added capabilities with Flightspares, especially with their specialized technical expertise, will open new customer opportunities for TTI," said Gene Conahan, TTI's Europe president. "We have terrific growth opportunities in connectors and the talent of the Flightspares personnel will strengthen our ability to become a leader in the interconnect market."
Flightspares' managing director Paul Green commented, "We are delighted to become a part of the growing TTI family. We both share the philosophy of being focused, specialized distributors and this partnership will not only give us expanded opportunities to grow with TTI, but will also be a positive for our employees."
Berkshire Hathaway purchased TTI in 2007 and this is the third acquisition the company has made since then.
