Jan 28, 2010

SUNNYVALE, Calif. & YOKNEAM, Israel -- Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ:  MLNX) announced that its ConnectX-2 EN 10-Gigabit Ethernet controller is now available on the new HP NC542m Dual Port Flex-10 10GbE BLc adapter, directly from HP for the company’s HP BladeSystem c-Class platform.

Mellanox says that its ConnectX-2-enabled adapters provide an optimized, low latency solution for high-transaction databases, financial services, cloud computing and virtualized server and storage data center environments.

“Mellanox is pleased to provide its ConnectX-2 EN 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology through HP, to enable IT managers with the most efficient, flexible and high-performance Ethernet solution,” comments John Monson, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “The combination of 10 Gigabit Ethernet mezzanine adapter cards powered by Mellanox’s ConnectX-2 EN and HP Bladesystem c-Class enables end-users to improve their business results with reduced infrastructure complexity, expanded flexibility, and increased efficiency and power savings for maximum return on investment.”

The HP NC542m is billed as the company’s highest performing, lowest power 10GigE adapter card available today. It provides full bandwidth on both ports simultaneously at 8.5 Watts maximum power. The NC542m also supports standard TCP/IP application latency at less than 8us and supports an internal RDMA acceleration engine to further reduce the latency to under 6us. The NC542m is VMware Ready certified for VMware vSphere 4, enabling customers to manage key infrastructure components including CPUs, storage and networking as a seamless, flexible and dynamic cloud environment.

“With its high-integration, advanced feature-set, and leading performance and power efficiency, the HP NC542m with Mellanox’s ConnectX-2 EN 10 Gigabit Ethernet controller shines as one of the most-attractive 10 Gigabit Ethernet options available through HP,” offers Bob Wheeler, senior analyst at the high tech research consultancy, The Linley Group. “End-users selecting this 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter can expect to achieve superior data center productivity and service flexibility.”

The HP NC542m Dual Port Flex-10 10GbE BLc Adapter is available today through the HP website at www.hp.com.
