Insilco Makes Announcements
MORRISVILLE, N.C. Insilco Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Insilco Holding Co., has renamed its Custom Assembly Segments (formerly Escod Industries) to ITG Global. ITG manufactures cable assemblies and electromechanical devices for the telecommunications, medical, automotive, computer, industrial and process control industries. The ITG Global division has added a fiber optic manufacturing facility to its Larne, Northern Ireland plant. Lastly, Insilco Technologies has acquired Rockwall, Texas-based PCM Precision Cable Manufacturing Co., a provider of insulated wire and custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses servicing automotive, telecommunications and medical applications.
Flextronics Acquires Operations
MUNICH Flextronics International Ltd. and Siemens Information and Communication Mobile Group (Karlskrona, Sweden) have an agreement under which Flextronics will acquire part of the production activities at the Siemens facilities in L'Aquila, Italy.
Solectron Expands and Makes Changes
MILPITAS, Calif. Solectron Corp. has completed its Westborough, Mass.-based facility expansion, which adds approximately 198,000 sq ft of capacity to the previously existing 166,000 sq ft. Solectron also announced that Walt Wilson, senior vice president of Business Integration and Information Technology, is transitioning to a new role coordinating select projects. His business integration responsibilities are assigned to Sajjad Malik, vice president of enterprise integration, and his information technology responsibilities are handled by Bud Mathaisel, corporate vice president and CIO.
Richardson and AEM Have Agreement
LaFox, Ill. Richardson Electronics Ltd. has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with AEM Inc. (San Diego), a manufacturer of ceramic-based technologies. From satellites to computers to cellular devices, AEM products are used for EMI signal filtering and high-reliability circuit protection in high-tech industries.
Pioneer-Standard Signs with Schaffner
CLEVELAND Pioneer-Standard has signed a North American distribution agreement with Schaffner EMC Inc. (Edison, N.J.) to distribute its EMI filter products. Partnering with Pioneer strengthens Schaffner's goal of further establishing its position as a major international manufacturer, according to Thomas Grichting, general manager of North American Operations for Schaffner.
ICC Opens Sales Office
MORRESTOWN, N.J. Interstate Connecting Components (ICC) has opened a new sales office in Englewood, Colo. to better communicate with its western customers. ICC supplies products and services to meet the interconnecting needs of the military, shipboard, aircraft, industrial and broadcast industries. Sarah Davis is managing the new facility.
