Kensington Electronics to distribute Amphenol Industrial's solar connectivity products

Aug 2, 2010

Kensington Electronics has become an official distributor for Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO). Kensington will distribute Amphenol Industrial's products for the photovoltaic and solar connectivity markets.

Kensington notes that it has been involved with solar panel manufacturers, installers, and inverter companies, and says that it has since earned a reputation for being a "go to" solution for companies who need connector solutions, custom solar cable assemblies, and junction box builds.

Amphenol Industrial says its use of state-of-the-art CNC machining, die-casting, molding, impact and extruding, plating, screw machining and process controls gives its connectors and interconnect systems a high degree of engineering sophistication and precision manufacturing. The company says its patented RADSOK technology allows for 50% more current to pass through the same size cavity, while providing increased connector reliability, ampacity and cycle durability as well as lower insertion force, T-rise and voltage drop.

AIO also bills its Helios H4 as the premiere solar connector in the market today. The company says the connector carries more amps and has a higher IP rating than competitive offerings, and is fully intermatable with industry standard connectors. Additionally, the H4 meets the NEC 2008 standard "as is" with no additional components required. The connector series is currently available in three different gauges: 36A (2.5mm2; AWG14), 45A(4.0mm2; AWG12) and 52A(6.0mm2; AWG10).
