Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland GmbH of Germany has released the Y-Sol4 F.A.T. [Free Assembly Type] photovoltaic connector, designed to reduce the time and expense of manually wiring the modules in photovoltaic systems.
The F.A.T. connector requires just three steps for installation, says the manufacturer, and requires no special tools.

The cut and insulated cable is inserted into the contact; the contact is then sealed by hand, allowing the terminal contact to make contact with the copper flex of the cable. The connector is then screwed in; consequently, wiring can be carried out in the field, says Yamaichi.
