RJ-45 Connector Modules
![]() |
Surface-mount products have been added to the belMag family of shielded RJ-45 connector modules with integrated magnetics for 10/100Base-T Ethernet applications. The SMT belMag is said to feature a low-profile height of 0.502" and footprint of 0.670". It is available in two pinout options (S811-1X1T-03 and -04) for design flexibility. As this single-port jack is engineered for manufacture, it reportedly is compatible with standard pick-and-place machines. Bel Fuse Inc., Jersey City, N.J.
Nano-sized Connectors
![]() |
These SMT nano-sized vertical and horizontal connectors are at 0.025" pitch and reportedly have BeCu leads and vertical shoulder mounts to meet the requirements of high-speed pick-and-place processing technologies. Mating plugs are either board-mounted or come with pigtailed leads and can be jack-screwed into the receptacles. The connectors ship in tape-and-reel format, and are said to exceed the high-vibration, outgassing and temperature requirements for space applications. Nanonics Corp., Phoenix, Ariz.
Flat Cable Assemblies
![]() |
Axolink flat cable assemblies are for board-to-display connections. The product consists of a 0.5 mm flat flexible cable with 31 or 41 conductors connected to a Hirose DF-9 interface at one end, and either another DF-9 connector or a ZIF termination on the other end. A molded strain relief is said to strengthen the DF-9 connector. The assembly is suitable for all board-to-FPD interconnects where the VESA, FPD Interface (FDPI-1) is specified. Axon' Cable Inc., Mount Prospect, Ill.
Fiber Optic Cable Connectors
![]() |
The 4 Channel and 12 Channel Hermaphroditic Fiber Optic Cable Connectors are for harsh environment applications. Said to offer a genderless connection, these cable connections link similar connectors of other reels without regard for connector gender. Both singlemode- and multimode-compatible, they reportedly are designed to withstand crush, impact, cable pull-out, cable twist, bending moment, water and mud immersion, and other harsh environments. Packard-Hughes Interconnect, Irvine, Calif.
BGA Socketing System
![]() |
The 0.0295" (0.75 mm) pitch BGA Socket Adapter System is an alternative to soldering BGA devices directly to the PCB. Designed specifically for production applications, the 0.75 mm BGA socket is the same size as the micro-BGA package, while the adapter is 2 mm larger. The socketing system reportedly enables the BGA device package to be soldered to an adapter, converting it to a pinned device. Advanced Interconnections Corp., West Warwick, R.I.
Flexible Cable Interfaces/Jumpers
![]() |
Flex Cable Interfaces and standard Flex Cable Jumpers are for off-the-shelf delivery of common applications. Flex Cable sockets (FC1 Series) mate with flat flexible cable and flexible printed circuits, as well as the company's flexible cable jumpers (FJ Series). They are available in both vertical and horizontal designs with solder weld tabs provided for increased mechanical strength in horizontal applications. Samtec Inc., New Albany, Ind.
Switch Connectors
![]() |
Switch-Con CSF switch connectors are combination slip-on switch connectors designed to reduce assembly time and the number of components. The housing design reportedly flexes to mate with popular snap-action switches from different manufacturers for "quick-connect" connections. It also offers mass termination and the convenience of a single plug, which is said to eliminate miswiring with single disconnects. ITW Pancon, Bolingbrook, Ill.
USB Connectors
![]() |
This line of high-speed standard connectors is designed for USB. The line is configured according to the "A" version of the standard. It reportedly offers four in-line pins of brass or phosphor bronze, plated with nickel and finished with a gold flash. Two pins are intended for power, and two are intended for signals over twisted pairs. They are said to feature a bandwidth of 12 Mbps or better. Ranoda Electronics Inc., a subsidiary of Ultro Technologies of Singapore, Sunnyvale, Calif.
EMI Gaskets
![]() |
Soft-Shield 4000 Series EMI gaskets provide both UL 94V-0 or UL 94HB flammability-rated compositions, and three grades of softness for the foam core. These low-closure-force EMI gaskets are designed to provide high levels of shielding and grounding in commercial electronics. The gaskets can be fabricated for shielding D-subminiature connectors (nine to 50 pin). Chomerics, a division of Parker Hannifin Corp., Woburn, Mass.
Crimp-style Connectors
![]() |
Series PA & PAD disconnectable, 2.0 mm (0.079") crimp-style connectors are said to offer compact size and stable contact performance under vibration, distortion, and low voltage or current conditions. The Series PA (single-row) connector is available with two to 16 circuits. The Series PAD (double-row) connector offers 16 or 20 circuits. Both connectors reportedly accommodate wire sizes 28 to 22 AWG. The PA current rating is 3.0 A AC/DC; the PAD current rating is 2.0 A AC/DC. J.S.T. Corp., Waukegan, Ill.
SWD Switch Connector
The ultraminiature SWD switch connector is targeted for use in testing wireless equipment designed to operate in the licensed or unlicensed frequency bands from DC to 6 GHz. The SWD system consists of an ultraminiature, surface-mountable receptacle (3 mm2) with integrated mechanical switching function and a choice of test probes. The system is suitable for use in troubleshooting RF circuits or performing automated system checks in a measurement process in the factory. Murata Electronics North America Inc., Smyrna, Ga.
D-subminiature Connectors
![]() |
These D-subminiature connectors are available in a variety of configurations, including standard-density connectors with 20 AWG layouts with nine, 15, 25, 37 and 50 contacts, and high-density connectors with 22 AWG layouts with 15, 26, 44, 62, 78 and 104 contacts. Some custom and combination versions are also available. The connectors are manufactured with crimp, solder-cup, straight PCB and right-angle PCB terminations. Cristek Interconnects Inc., Anaheim, Calif.
