Meritec’s newest addition to its extensive line of cabling products is the Hercules High-Speed Ruggedized Interconnect System. Running at a rate of 10 Gb/s per pair and the possibility of 44 differential pairs, the system's rugged light weight aluminum MIL-38999 shell offers numberous options for the speed and environmental demands of harsh military applications.

The Hercules system's hermaphroditic contact arrangement complies with numerous protocols including SAS, InfiniBand, USB 2.0 and 3.0, PCIexpress Gen2, Serial I/O, Ethernet, CX4, 10G Ethernet, Display Port, DVI,  SATA and ESATA. The MIL-38999 Series III range of connectors are designed to meet the most stringent requirements of the military and aerospace industries, able withstand large amounts of shock and vibration, as well as interference from EMI/RFI environments.

The complete Hercules range of shells consists of multiple sizes that will be fitted with the Hercules high bandwidth contact. The connectors can utilize standard accessories, caps and gaskets for ease of use and economies of scale. Meritec will release the Hercules High-Speed Ruggedized Interconnect System at MILCOM 2011 (Nov 7-10) in Baltimore, MD.
