The Universal Access Tool 2 was developed to simplify the midspan access of the company`s single-tube fiber optic cables: EST, SST and Mini Bundle Ribbon cables. It also handles the SST-UltraRibbon cable. A drive mechanism pulls the tool along the tube as the T-handle is turned. As the tool passes down a length of tube, two blades on opposite sides of the tool score the outside of the tube. These cuts are then split open to expose the fibers inside.
