TULSA, Okla. - PennWell, a diversified global media company, has acquired five magazines from IHS Publishing Group (Libertyville, Ill.), Connector Specifier, SMT, Advanced Packaging, Vacuum & Thinfilm and SMT Asia- Pacific Edition.
"These magazines provide a strong strategic fit with several of our existing semiconductor and electronics manufacturing titles and will expand our total reach and influence with readers and marketers in the electronics industry," said Adam Japko, president and COO of PennWell`s Advanced Technology Div. (ATD), headquartered in Nashua, N.H.
The titles will be published by the ATD`s Computer & Electronics Group, based in Nashua and headed by Bill Pryor, senior vice president. According to Pryor, "PennWell will be retaining key editorial and management personnel from IHS and will maintain a Chicago-area office near the current Libertyville operation. Key management team members that will continue with PennWell in important roles include Marsha Robertson, vice president and general manager of IHS Publishing Group, and Greg Reed, editor of SMT, Advanced Packaging and Connector Specifier."
