Signal contacts have been added to the original power modules of the Crown Edge family of modular card-edge connectors. The connectors use Crown Band technology configured to mate directly with a 0.062" (1.6 mm) thick PCB edge or with a solid bus bar. Intended for power supply-to-backplane interconnect applications, this design concept is said to eliminate the need for a pin connector on the power supply side.
