The 75 Ω BNC Straight Receptacle is available in two overall heights: a standard 0.810" from the base of the connector to the top of the mating area, and a much shorter 0.640" version. Its design is said to enhance its use in PCBs. A round base is supplied instead of the traditional square base, which reportedly reduces the surface area required on the PCB and makes more space for other components. The connector also has a protective PTFE insulator surrounding the center contact to guard against damage during mating.
