Metrethane 4716 is a two-component, low-viscosity polyurethane gel used for sealing cable, potting cable connectors and making telecommunications repairs where resistance to saltwater and fuel oils is needed. When cured, the product is said to become a soft, self-healing gel designed for use where embedded circuitry must be checked visually and with test probes. It also reportedly provides a strain-free, shock-absorbing cushion for delicate parts over a range of temperatures.
