EBBI SCA-2 Press-fit Receptacles offer backplane- to-disk drive connections. Their housing design with preloaded contacts reportedly helps prevent contact stubbing, controls insertion force during mating and promotes alignment. The receptacles feature pressfit tails with eye-of-the-needle design intended to preserve the integrity of the holes on the PCB. These EBBI-style backplane connectors also are said to feature contacts with a high-conductivity copper alloy. The "first-mate" contacts have a wipe length of 0.094" for better connections.
