New from Rosenberger, the Power-SMP (P-SMP) RF coaxial connectors combine the advantages of SMP connectors, i.e. minimum board-to-board space, with those of SMA connectors to achieve high performance and a high power rating.
Applications include board-to-board connections in base stations, or board-to-cable connections in power amplifier filter units.
According to the company, minimum board-to-board distances, beginning from 12.6 mm, can be realized by using bullets of different lengths. In these applications, the P-SMP connectors are designed for high power loads up to 200 watts at frequencies of 2.2 GHz (max. frequency 15 GHz).
Other characteristics of the connectors include very high density in board-to-board connections and high flexibility due to misalignment (axial + 1mm, radial four degrees). The connector series is available in smooth bore, limited detent, and full-detent configurations.
