Ardent Concepts, a specialist in high performance test socket and connector technology, will distribute the latest white paper on its RC Scrub-R test socket system during the upcoming International Test Conference in Austin, TX, held November 1 - 5.
“RC Scrub-R has been refined over several iterations since we first developed the patent 4 years ago,” says Sergio Diaz, Engineering Manager at Ardent. “We are very pleased that the most recent design enhancements have allowed us to maintain the signal integrity our sockets are known for and dramatically enhance the mechanical performance. We are seeing customers now reporting virtually zero down time for in some cases millions of insertions.”
According to Ardent, the latest version of the RC Scrub-R system employs an elegant and simple coil form contact made from un-plated semi-precious alloy. This contact provides a "scrub" at the device under test contact point while maintaining static contact on the board side. This results in excellent electrical contact with the DUT while eliminating the board wear common in many "rocking beam" style ATE test sockets.
“This white paper summarizes a terrific amount of field testing that has gone into the development of RC Scrub-R and demonstrates specifically how the product can reduce test costs and increase first pass yields,” claims Steve Cleveland, Vice President of Business Development for Ardent. “It has been true collaboration with our domestic customers and their overseas subcontractors to enhance, improve and perfect the performance of RC Scrub-R in production test environments for small packaged parts.”
Ardent will provide copies of the white paper to interested parties at Booth #401 during the International Test Conference http://www.itctestweek.org. Copies of the white paper will also be available for download from http://www.ardentconcepts.com/papers/html.
