SEA Wire and Cable collaborating with JKM Manufacturing on Lean initiative

EUFAULA, AL -- JKM Manufacturing, Inc. is strengthening its strategic partnership with its key suppliers and collaborating on Lean manufacturing initiatives with SEA Wire and Cable, Inc.

 

"SEA Wire and Cable, Inc.  has been a strategic partner and supplier to JKM for many years," JKM CEO Chad B. White said. "We are embarking on new ground. Our collaborating with this key supplier along with our key customers will decrease the time it takes to bid programs. More importantly, it gets mission critical components to our war fighters quicker." 

IPC to hold Lean conference

As JKM's top manager, White cites himself as "a fervent champion of lean manufacturing, collaboration and communication - tenets that make JKM a responsive, reliable and proactive maker of quality products." He further says he is "committed to putting customers and their mission first."  

In the new collaborative effort, JKM and SEA Wire and Cable are partnering to identify and eliminate waste in their collaborative and administrative processes, with the goal of improving responsiveness to customers' needs and lowering costs. By improving three and four links of the supply chain, White said, "we see more industrial innovation and nimbleness."

JKM builds products used on 23 major platforms, such as guided missiles, military aircraft, flight simulators, helicopters, tanks, industrial robots and sonar test equipment. JKM specializes in complex wire harness assemblies, rugged electronic systems, circuit card assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies. JKM also produces a variety of interconnects, they include custom molded harnesses, complex braided cables, fiber-optic cables, coaxial cables and precision ribbon cables.
