Harting has introduced its Han GND (Han Ground) connector. Billed as an innovative solution for potential equalization, the company claims the new connector series makes it possible to implement grounding systems in a pluggable design for the first time.
Harting notes that the use of connectors has been well-established in the electrical cabling of machines and systems for many years. Quick and error-free installation is a key advantage. However, system grounds are typically still permanently connected, which can cause errors and is relatively time consuming. Hartings's remedy: the Han GND. The new single-pole connector in a robust IP 65 plastic housing is designed for stranded wires from 10-35 mm sq. and is available in both crimp and axial screw versions, says the company.

Axial screw termination allows wires to be terminated to contacts without special tooling. Extra connector mating security can be provided by the use of additional locking elements that prevent unintentional interruption. Applications include broadcast and rigging, construction equipment, scaffolding, temporary lighting, carnival rides, anywhere fast connections of temporary grounds are needed.
