Molex to showcase MediSpec interconnect products for next-gen medical devices

At MD&M Minneapolis 2011 (November 2 – 3), Molex (NASDAQ: MOLX) will demonstrate its MediSpec portfolio of interconnect products for use in next generation healthcare devices. According to the company, the MediSpec products address the electronic design demands of medical equipment manufacturers engineering new and emerging healthcare products in diagnostic imaging, therapeutic and surgical, patient monitoring, hospital and patient care and healthcare IT applications.

“The effectiveness and reliability of healthcare devices and systems rely on the robust design, engineering and performance of their underlying electronics,” comments Anthony Kalaijakis, strategic medical market manager, Molex. “With its MediSpec portfolio of products, Molex is leading the way in the convergence of electronic product integration into medical applications and delivering the technology solutions for the next generation of healthcare.”

Molex says the MediSpec products benefit from its long-standing expertise in a variety of technologies vital to the healthcare industry including: Molded Interconnect Device (MID) 3D circuits and antennas utilizing Laser Directed Structuring (LDS); fiber optic connectors, drawn glass and capillary tubing; capacitive touch and membrane user interface switch panels; and copper flex circuits and assemblies.

By blending proven commercial technologies, cost-effective modified off-the-shelf products and custom solutions, Molex says it is able to offer a wide range of MediSpec products, including: microminiature interconnects in support of product miniaturization; wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors and assemblies; power (low, medium and high) connectors and assemblies; board-to-board interconnects from high-density to micro-stacking; RF connectors and assemblies including non-magnetic options and custom solutions.
