ITT rugged connectors suit military, transportation power applications

ITT Interconnect Solutions has released its APD series transportation connectors, designed to overcome the harsh environments commonly found in heavy transportation applications. The APD rugged connectors also are applicable to military and industrial applications that demand a small, lightweight, harsh-environment connector. Sealed to IP67/IP69K standards and vibration resistant, the connectors include 1- and 2-way high-power and 4-way high-voltage interconnects to 51-way interface connectors, plus special sensors and PCB-type versions.

Electrical specifications cover requirements to 48 volts DC and to 240 amps of power. Manufactured from materials that resist exposure to diesel fuel, as well as oil and brake fluids, the APD connectors feature ITT's bayonet locking system to cope with high vibration. For ultra-heavy duty usage, the APD 19/51 way additionally offers a secondary locking feature for contact installation and guaranteed contact alignment. All APD connectors are color-coded and have mechanical keying for ease of use.
