Henkel issues toughened, light cure adhesives for substrates bonding; impact, flexing targeted

Rocky Hill, CT — For bonding applications that mustwithstand impact or flexing, Henkel Corporation has made two additions to its Loctite Flashcure Light Cure Cyanoacrylate Instant Adhesives line. Featuring extremely fast cure speeds and a secondary moisture-curemechanism that allows the adhesives to cure thoroughly in unexposedareas, these new toughened light cure formulations adhere to a widevariety of substrates including plastics, elastomers, rubbers, and metals.

The new Loctite 4310 Flashcure and Loctite 4311 Flashcure Light Cure Cyanoacrylate adhesives cure tack-free in just two to five seconds upon exposure to low-intensity UV/visible light.  Both adhesives are fluorescent for inspection purposes and meet ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards.  They can be used for bonding hypodermic needles, hearing aids, handheld electronics, household and industrial products.  These cyanoacrylate instant adhesives are also suitable for sensor bonding and wire tacking applications.

Loctite 4310 Flashcure Light Cure Cyanoacrylate Instant Adhesive isa clear to pale green, low-viscosity formulation that fills gaps to 0.005-inches using only moisture cure and can cure to depths up to0.5-inches on exposure to light. 

Loctite 4311 Flashcure Light CureCyanoacrylate Instant Adhesive is a high-viscosity, clear to pale green formulation that fills larger gaps to 0.008-inches using only moisture cure and can be cured to depths up to 0.5-inches on exposureto light.  Both adhesives withstand temperatures ranging from -65° to180°F.
