Hirose adds ATS applicators for wire-to-board connector families

Aug 9, 2010

SIMI VALLEY, CA -- Providing design engineers with expanded applicator tooling options for several of its popular wire-to-board connector product lines, Hirose USA has teamed with ATS (Application Tooling Solutions) to enable ATS to supply applicators that fit into industry standard terminating machines.

Hirose says the option to use the ATS applicator tooling means reduced set-up time, a more streamlined production line and faster overall manufacturing throughput by allowing the use of existing termination equipment.

“By integrating ATS’ applicators with standardized terminating machines, Hirose customers can maximize the efficiency of their manufacturing lines and increase their overall production flow,” said Rick vanWeezel, vice president of sales and marketing for Hirose USA.

He continued, “We chose to work with ATS because they share Hirose’s commitment to delivering efficient, economical manufacturing solutions to customers along with providing personal, professional service.”

Hirose has found ATS applicator tooling ideal for use with some of Hirose’s most popular board connectors for discrete wire connection, including the company's:

• DF3 Series – 2mm pitch, SMT/through-hole (2 - 15 positions, up to 3A, 6.6/7.5mm stack heights);

• DF11 Series – 2mm pitch, SMT/through-hole (4 - 40 positions, up to 2A, 7.6/7.8/8.2/8.4mm stack heights);

• DF13 Series – 1.25mm pitch, SMT/Through-hole (2 - 40 positions, 1A)

• DF14 Series – 1.25mm pitch, SMT (2 - 30 positions, 1A)

• DF20 Series – 1mm pitch, SMT (10/20/30/40/50 positions, up to 1A)
