Avnet Express offering stock-to-build connector assemblies

Aug 15, 2011

Combining inventory of more than five million SKUs with its physical value-add services, Avnet Express (NYSE: AVT) announced that it is now offering online customers the ability to view stock available to build connector assemblies. Customers who purchase connector assemblies on www.avnetexpress.com can now see what the distributor can build for connector assemblies with individual components on-hand, with assembly times ranging from three to five days.

In the last year alone, the distributor claims its ability to meet customer specifications of varying levels yielded more than six million flat flex assemblies, flat ribbon cable connector assemblies and harness assemblies. Based on customer specifications, Avnet says its dedicated production cell can provide cable assemblies for high-reliability applications in military, aerospace, medical and other applications.

“Providing our customers with the option to see our stock-to-build capabilities further demonstrates the value Avnet brings to our customers,” said Beth Ely, vice president of Avnet Express. “Now, not only can our customers benefit from our vast in-stock inventory, they can take advantage of our expertise in building connector assemblies. This visibility will give our customers a better way to manage their supply chain, and ultimately accelerate their time-to-market.”
