ETCO Inc. has introduced a wiring harness assembly machine that inserts a small plastic cover into the back of a proprietary pre-assembled insulated flag terminal to meet the UL 749 dishwasher standard.
The ETCO Closed-Back Insulated Flag Applicator is a bench top machine that inserts a small plastic cover into the back of an insulated flag terminal after it is processed in an applicator and attached to a wire.
Producing a compact connector that complies fully with the UL 749 dishwasher standard, the pneumatic assembly machine inserts the plastic covers from a reel.
Featuring semi-automatic operation, the applicator machine can process up to 2000 parts-per-hour, says the company. The plastic inserts are made of fire-retardant nylon and the closed-back flag connectors are more compact, secure, and less time-consuming to assemble than plastic clamshell add-ons which snap around an entire connector, claims the firm.
