Agilent's DisplayPort compliance test solution supports ROHM's DisplayPort receiver IP cores

Feb 25, 2010

Agilent Technologies announced that its DisplayPort compliance test solution supports automated testing of the ROHM’s Receiver (Rx) IP cores for DisplayPort. ROHM is a manufacturer of electronic components, transistors and diodes, ICs and other semiconductor products.

“We are delighted to collaborate with ROHM on DisplayPort sync device evaluation,” said Brian Fetz, DisplayPort program manager of Agilent’s Digital Test Division. “Our joint offering provides customers an unprecedented level of automation, convenience and speed. Being able to press to press ‘Go,’ while you are gone for lunch for example, offers much-needed flexibility, as you have the system test while you are away. We are excited about the future of the DisplayPort interface as the new product line-up complements our test vision for this technology.”

For increased productivity and efficiency in chipset testing, Agilent's DisplayPort test solution consists of the W2642A AUX Channel controller, the N5990A test automation software and the J-BERT N4903B high-performance Serial BERT. Customers deploying ROHM’s Rx IP cores for DisplayPort, including LCD panel timing control LSIs, can now test their devices with confidence using Agilent’s test solution.

The Agilent W2642A AUX Channel Controller allows engineers to control a device under test (DUT) through the DisplayPort connector. Separate, proprietary software for back-channel control of each test device is no longer required. Agilent worked closely with ROHM to thoroughly verify the W2642A and ensure it properly controls, and fully supports, ROHM’s Rx IP cores for DisplayPort.

“I am very pleased that our IP cores for DisplayPort Rx work effectively with Agilent’s W2642A,” said Akira Nakamuara, the unit leader of the IT Unit at ROHM. “With W2642A, our customers can evaluate their DisplayPort sync devices effectively without proprietary test software.”
