Harwin has added a variety of compact jumper sockets/shunts to its 1.27mm-pitch Archer pin header series. According to the manufacturer, the jumpers can be used to eliminate switches from PCBs for increased reliability and lower cost. The product range includes closed-top sockets with and without handles; both styles are end-stackable; devices with handles are side-stackable. A choice of colors (blue, black, and red) allows for manufacturing flexibility -- for example, if motherboards with different processor options are being produced at the same time. Current rating is 1 amp; the sockets employ a twin beam contact design, enabling them to be used for up to 300 operations. Applications include test and measurement, robotics, marine, industrial, handheld, and medical equipment.
