FIBER-LIKE COPPER ASSEMBLY

This very low-profile QSFP direct attach copper cable assembly is “fiber-like” in size. Its reduced bend radius and smaller diameter are designed for more aggressive routing, cleaner dressing of the cables in high-performance computing environments, and less interference with the closing of cabinet doors. A proprietary low-loss expanded PTFE fabric jacket allows for smaller diameter cables having the same 10-Gbits/sec electrical performance of larger outside diameter cables.

Key specifications:

  • 0.170-inch diameter (4x channel, 8-pair cable) ? Proprietary PTFE jacket (1.3 dielectric constant)

Applications:

  • High-performance computing applications (QDR InfiniBand, 40-GbE), top-of-rack switching installations

This filtered modular jack connector protects equipment from conducted and radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI). These compact, filtered PCB connectors are intermateable and interchangeable with existing standard unfiltered RJ-45 modular jack connectors, are compatible with wave solder environments, and have a high temperature option for reflow processes. Low profile and narrow width are designed to allow for more ports in less space, while redundant shielding tabs help to ensure a low impedance ground path.

    Key specifications:

    • Versions?Inductor, capacitor, ESD (shielded or unshielded)
    • Flame-retardant polyester thermoplastic housing
    • Insertion loss (min.)?4 dB (100 MHz) to 20 dB (1000 MHz)
    • Contact plating?50u gold
    • Shell size?8-position/1-port through 8-position/ 8-port
    • Capacitance/ESD value?0 to +/- 20%, plus capacitive and ESD select loads

    Applications:

    • LAN and WAN installation, network cards, broadband transmission equipment, workstations, peripherals, fax/modems, copy machines, multiplexing.
