September 2, 2009 -- Hirose Electric Co., Ltd., now offers a range of board-to-board and board-to-FPC connectors, designed to provide design engineers with a reliable means of transferring signals in consumer and other electronic devices. Consisting of the DF and FX series, the connectors feature contact pitches ranging from 0.4 mm to 2.54 mm, along with various termination styles and a variety of mated heights.

"The variety of styles -- from complying with VESA specifications for flat panel display interfaces, to special contact and housing designs that greatly enhance the connectors' resistance to drop shock, to high speed signal transmission -- allow the connectors to be specified for a myriad of portable consumer electronics applications," says Tats Arai, president of Hirose Electric USA. "The DF and FX Series connectors are currently being deployed in LCD displays, cell phones, notebook computers, PDAs, digital cameras, and other compact devices."

Hirose's board-to-board connectors include (but are not limited to) the following devices:

DF9 Series ? 1mm pitch; 4.3 mm mated height; parallel connection style; contact positions from 9-51 (31 and 41 position connectors comply with VESA specifications for flat panel display interfaces;

DF12 Series ? 0.5 mm pitch; 3.0-5.0 mm mated heights; parallel connection style; contact positions from 10-80;

DF17 Series ? 0.5 mm pitch; 4.0-8.0 mm mated heights; parallel connection style; contact positions from 20-80; special contact and housing design greatly enhances the connectors' resistance to drop shock;

DF23 Series ? 0.5 mm pitch; 1.5 mm mated height; parallel and board-to-FPC connection styles; contact positions from 10-60;

DF30 Series ? 0.4 mm pitch; 0.9 mm mated height; parallel and board-to-FPC connection style; contact positions from 20-80;

DF40 Series ? 0.4 mm pitch; 1.5 mm mated height; parallel and board-to-FPC connection style; contact positions from 10-100;

FX8 Series ? 0.6 mm pitch; 3.0 mm and 4.0 mm mated heights; parallel connection style; contact positions from 40-140;

FX8C Series ? 0.6 mm pitch; 5.0 mm-16 mm mated heights; parallel connection style; contact positions from 60-280;

FX11 Series ? 0.5 mm pitch; 2.0 mm-3.0 mm mated heights; parallel connection style; contact positions from 60-140; designed for high speed signal transmission.
