Aviel Electronics reaps initial $250M+ order from Canada's Zargo

Jul 14, 2009

July 14, 2009 -- Aviel Electronics, a division of RF Industries Ltd. (RFI), announced that it has been awarded an initial $268,000 production order for a custom designed SMB connector from Zargo Technologies, a Canadian electro-mechanical distributor. The initial order of 10,000 connectors is expected to be substantially delivered in RFI's current fiscal year ending October 31, 2009.

"During RFI's recent second quarter ended April 30, 2009, Aviel worked closely with Zargo, investing significant manpower and resources to meet specifications for this custom designed RF coaxial connector. We believe our work to date, the award of this initial contract and opportunity to compete for additional follow-on orders have the potential to significantly improve Aviel's profitability in the coming year," comments Bob Macias, Aviel's general manager.

"Our advanced design SMB connector is a hermetically sealed, 'push lock' style IP68 RF coaxial connector which will be used for an undisclosed, high-performance aerospace application," adds Denver Carnes, Aviel's director.

Las Vegas-based Aviel, part of the RFI Connector and Cable Assembly division, designs and manufactures custom, obsolete and specialty connectors, in quantities ranging from one unit to thousands, for aerospace, microwave, defense and OEM industrial applications.
