Weidmuller has announced a new line of compact, robust, modular M23 circular connectors for signal, power and hybrid (signal and power) applications. The connectors are designed for "outside cabinet" deployment in machine and industrial automation applications.
According to the company, the M23 circular connectors comprise a modular system with a broad range of housing styles, inserts and contacts. Robust metal housings are available in straight and right angle versions, as field-wireable or built-in connectors. Built-in connectors are available for front mount as well as back mount for additional flexibility.
The new M23 connector family includes signal connectors ranging from 6- to 19-poles, along with a 6-pole (5 +PE) power version, and a hybrid connector with 4 power contacts and 4 signal contacts. All contacts are gold-plated, guaranteeing over 1,000 mating cycles and currents from 8A-28A at voltages of 100V-800V, depending on the connector.

Crimping contacts of the new M23 line feature the company's patented SLS Technology (Spring Loaded Socket) for high-level contact stability. Weidmuller's patented Euro-Lock-System features an integrated locking clip that securely locks the contacts into the insert. It allows for easy assembly and disassembly without the need of special tools. Designed for use in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +125°C (-40°F to +257°F), the M23 circular connectors guarantee ingress protection to IP67 and IP69K, and are CE and UL approved for use in applications worldwide.
