February 26, 2009--The Phoenix Company of Chicago has introduced a new series of SMPM and waterproof connectors to its product line.
30% smaller than SMP blindmate connectors, the SMPM series (pictured above) provide a smaller lighterweight solution in high-performance applications where space is a premium. These subminiature connectors are designed to provide superior electrical performance from DC to 26.5 GHz, and are built for rugged environments (manufactured to MIL-STD-348). They feature snap-in interconnects, allowing control while mating multiple connectors.
The SMPM connectors are suitable blind mate telecommunications, active antennas, phased arrays, airborne platforms, ship and ground radar, satellite communications, and military applications.
Phoenix's waterproof connectors (shown below) are designed to withstand harsh atmospheric conditions and provide similar benefits as hermetic designs. Environmental characteristics are achieved with the addition of sealing gaskets at critical ingress points. IP67-rated connectors are protected from water, sand, dust, salt, and other solid and chemical impurities.
These connectors are suitable for aerospace satellites, medical, military, petrochemical, shipboard and deep-sea immersion, and telecommunications.
