February 17, 2009 -- The National Electrical Distributors Association (NEDA) announced that it will hold a pair of seminars addressing two topics are top-of-mind for the electronics industry at present: the economy and making sales. Two featured speakers will address each issue at the NEDA Education Seminars held on Monday, May 11th, at the Electronic Distribution Show (EDS).
Bill Strauss, senior economist and economic advisor in the research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, will discuss economic conditions and their effect on the electronics industry. Strauss' chief responsibilities at the Fed include analyzing the performance of both the Midwest economy and the manufacturing sector for use in monetary policy. He was a featured speaker at the 2007 NEDA Executive Conference where his ability to present up-to the-minute information and clearly illustrate its relevance to our industry earned him high marks as a presenter.
Kirby Strickland will discuss the importance of maximizing marketing investment during hard times. The premise of the seminar is as follows: "Now is the time to measure and analyze your efforts and to zero in on what works best for your firm. While you can't control the economy or the demand for any specific product, Strickland will show how to control where and how you spend your marketing dollars to increase market share. Businesses need a process to review, analyze and put a strong, flexible marketing program into action."
NEDA is a non-profit trade association representing supplier authorized distributors of electronic components and their manufacturer-suppliers. Dedicated to enhancing the authorized distributor-manufacturer relationship, the group represents companies involved in the distribution of electronic components, computers and computer peripheral components and test, measurement and control equipment parts.
