February 11, 2009 -- At DesignCon 2009 (Feb. 2 ? 5), it was announced that Ticona's latest engineering polymer innovations for use in eco-friendly consumer electronics and industrial electrical components will include the following:

-- Fortron SKX-534 Black: Total halogen concentrations have been reduced to below 900 parts per million to help customers meet anticipated, more stringent environmental standards for consumer electronics. This polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), similar to the standard Fortron 1140L6 grade, is inherently flame resistant without additives, UL94 V-0 rated and can withstand high temperature soldering (up to 270° C).

-- Enhanced Celanex XFR Series: The Celanex 6842 series (non-halogenated thermoplastic polyester), with improved processability and equivalent properties that give a "drop-in" option for use in eco-friendly components, is V-0 and RoHS compliant. It can be used without having to modify designs, build new molds or make significant tooling changes.

-- Riteflex XFR grades: Two new thermoplastic polyester elastomers (TPC-ET) are designed to help customers comply with anticipated hazardous substance restrictions and waste directives. Riteflex XFR 440 and Riteflex XFR 655 provide UL-94 V-0 flame retardance rating and offer a Comparative Tracking Index of 600 volts.
