SCREW-LOCK PLUGGABLE TERMINAL BLOCK–These pluggable terminal blocks provide a screw locking feature similar to that found in many other types of connectors. The plug, which is available in pin spacing ranging from 3.5 to 5.08 mm and in sizes from 2 to 24 positions, comes with a flange on each end that has a locking screw. The corresponding pin header, which is mounted onto a printed circuit board, is equipped with a threaded insert to which the screw from the plug is engaged. This screw-lock plug and header are designed for applications where vibration is a concern or where an extra level of security in the wiring connection is desired. The screw-lock plugs and headers are molded with UL-94V0 plastic, and the plug features a nickel-plated copper metal body and a phosphor bronze tin-plated contact to ensure maximum reliability under all conditions.

PASSIVE I/O DISTRIBUTION BOXES–These I/O modules are especially designed for industrial automation since they avoid the use of parallel cabling involving control units or switch cabinets. Instead of using numerous cables, sensors and actuators can be directly connected for simplified installation or replacement. All M8/M12 distribution boxes with UL/CSA approval are designed for IP65/IP67 protection. The housing is available in a variety of port numbers and built to withstand oil, lubricants, and vibration. A range of mounting holes gives the option of direct attachment, and ensures the close proximity of the installation to the process. The control level is connected by a pre-assembled trunk cable that’s available in various lengths. A hybrid cable acts as both the power supply and the data link for sensors and actuators connected to the I/O box. The I/O boxes are available with 3- and 4-pin sockets, and with 4, 6, 8 and 10 ports. All boxes feature LEDs to display the status and operation mode of the I/O ports, and every port is equipped with a removable identification label.

HIGH-SPEED FLEX JUMPERS–The HSF8 Series of rugged high-speed flex jumpers are designed to offer a choice of mating Micro Edge Card connectors in vertical, horizontal, or edge-mount designs on a .8-mm pitch. These flex jumpers are available with standard lengths of 5 and 10 inches, and feature 14 and 32 differential pairs (7 and 16 signal pairs per side) and 20 and 50 signal single-ended pins (10 and 25 signal pins per side). Custom assemblies are available upon request. Additionally, high-speed flex designs are available with simplified customization of cable lengths, pin counts, guideposts, and polarization. Flex circuits are offered with proprietary Sudden Service, including intricate flex circuitry. Design capabilities include the use of Gerber files in RS27X or .DFX, .DXG, and IGES formats. Customized construction options are available with complex single-sided, double-sided multi-layer, and Rigid Flex.

WIRE-TO-BOARD LATCH/EJECT HEADER–This 2x2-mm latch/eject header for wire-to-board connections is designed for applications where circuit board space is a concern. It is suitable for a variety of electronic applications, including blade servers, medical electronics, motor control boards, data collection devices, and high-performance audio components. The device maintains a secure connection to the cable assembly during operation, yet allows for simplified removal of the harness when needed. Roll pins are used to attach the latches instead of a snap-in system, enabling connectivity in high-vibration applications. The latch resists breakage when ejecting the mating assembly. These headers feature 13-pin-count options from 6 to 50 positions, and connector bodies feature a cut-out to accommodate mating connectors with center bump polarization, as well as PCT resins that allow for high-temperature processing (up to 260° C) in lead-free environments. RoHS-compliant straight and right-angle plated pins, as well as thru-hole tails for boards up to 31.75-mm thickness and an optional vertical surface-mount version, are available.
