The ESB22712 series has a 0.65-mm contact spacing; the socket is 12.75 mm wide and 2.71 mm high. The 10-pin (one ID pin) type connector is rated for 35N max. force, with unmating force of 8N min. The part can withstand 10,000 insertion cycles.

The connector housing is manufactured with UL 94V-0 grade fire retardant plastic material. Gold plated contacts ensure low contact resistance. The connector series has a current rating of 1000mA and a voltage rating of 20mVAC (rms).

The full part number for the company's Micro-AB socket is ESB227120000Z. All parts are RoHS compliant and halogen free. The manufacturer notes that Micro-USB SuperSpeed 3.0 connectors are ten times faster than USB 2.0 types. The increased bandwidth substantially reduces the time required for transferring large amounts of data or video.
