September 25, 2008 -- Digi-Key and DLP Design, Inc. announced that the companies have entered into a worldwide distribution agreement.
DLP Design provides hardware and software solutions that make it easy for engineers and hobbyists to interface to a host computer via the USB interface. Products include USB adaptors, USB security dongles, development boards, modules and adapters, temperature humidity sensors, microcontroller FLASH programmers, prototyping boards, and RF/RFID products. DLP Design products stocked by Digi-Key are available for purchase directly from Digi-Key. These products are featured on Digi-Key's websites and will be featured in future print catalogs.

Digi-Key also announced that it has joined with Future Technology Devices International, Ltd. in the sponsorship of DLP Design's DLP-232PC Design Contest.
Engineers worldwide are invited to pit their design skills against their colleagues to come up with the smallest, lowest-cost, and most innovative design using DLP's tiny USB-to-microcontroller module. The DLP-232PC offers 14 I/O channels (eight can be configured for analog input) and USB communication with a host PC at up to 460K baud.
Start date for the contest is October 1, and the end date for submissions is January 15, 2009. The grand prize is a 65-inch Hi-Def LCD television or $5,000 cash. Other prizes include a Dell XPS M1730 laptop with 17-inch Hi-Def screen or $2,500 cash; Dell Latitude laptop or $1,300 cash; and three prizes of a16GB iPod Touch or $400 cash.
