EDGEBOARD RF FOR OUTDOORS—A sealed female Type N connector has been added to the RoHS-compliant V-Bite RF edgeboard connectors, suited for outdoor antennas and portable test equipment. Featuring a weather-tight, waterproof through-panel-mount seal, this coax connector is engineered with a silicone ring on the inside of the panel or box to create a robust seal when tightened from the front. Offered in 50-Ω impedance, the sealed Type N connectors are designed for weather-tight connection in which consistent performance through 18 GHz is required.

COAX/POWER/SIGNAL COMBO—Datamate Mix-Tek 2.00-mm pitch connectors offer numerous configurations for signal, power, and/or coax, allowing a customer to design a connector specifically suited to the application. They are available with jackscrew terminations for additional reliability and security in applications subject to high vibration, such as industrial, aerospace, and military. Power contacts are rated up to 20 amps, signal contacts handle 3 amps, and coax 50 ohms. High reliability is achieved via turned contacts used in conjunction with the company’s 4-finger beryllium copper contact clip.

MULTI-PORT RF—The multi-port SSMCX is an 8-position coaxial connector block on 3-mm pitch designed for cable-to-board applications, and is available in 4- and 8-port options as well as right-angle, vertical, SMT, and through-hole configurations. A positive latch plus holes in the PCB side accommodate solder pins for added stability. This connector is designed for very small radio and antenna applications where size and frequency are critical.

SOLDERLESS RIGHT-ANGLE QMA—While traditional right-angle connectors require soldering the center conductor, the RQA-5010-8X solderless right-angle QMA connector is similar to the SMA internal configuration but with a snap-on interface that permits tool-less mating and un-mating. A snap-lock mechanism engages by sliding the shell back and releasing to lock both connectors in place. After mating, the QMA connectors can be rotated 360°. Designed to mate with all QMA jacks, these right-angle devices offer strong electrical performance up to 6 GHz, and terminate .240-inch diameter high-performance, low-loss cables. They feature tri-metal plated brass bodies, Teflon insulation, spring copper alloy outer contacts, and gold-plated inner contacts.

LOW-PROFILE RF—The TS-11 is a straight, SMT-ready, RF receptacle with a switch function. It is designed for RF testing of small, lightweight products, such as GPS antennas, wireless LAN modules, and applications with requirements of up to 6 GHz frequency range. The receptacle has a low profile of 0.95 mm and 2.4 × 2.4 × 0.95 mm external dimensions, and is packaged in an embossed tape for automatic mounting. The plug comes with a half-locking system for manual inspection, while the probe part is suited for automatic inspection. This connector features a rating of 100 volts AC/DC, fre-quency range of up to 6 GHz, nominal impedance of 50-Ω, VSWR of 1.3 maximum up to 3 GHZ and 1.5 maximum from 3 to 6 GHz, and an operating temperature of -25° to 85° C.

MICRO-MINI RF—These SMPM micro-miniature RF connectors are designed to offer the same performance as proven SMP connectors but in a form factor that is 30% smaller. With a low VSWR through 40 GHz, the SMPM connectors are suitable for high-density packaging, allowing center-to-center spacing of 0.135 inch. Designed for harsh environments involving shock and vibration, the connectors are appropriate for such applications as ground and airborne radar, antenna systems, and other dense packaging communications systems. The 50-Ω devices are available in either a smooth bore or fully detented interface to provide insertion forces of either 2.5 or 4.5 pounds. They work with .047-inch semi-rigid and T-flex 405 cable, and can accommodate radial and axial misalignments of 0.010 inch.
