Cicoil Corp.’s (www.cicoil.com) flexible flat cables are being used in subsystems on the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The assemblies are used in such applications as targeting pods, fuel control systems, and missile gimbal and guidance systems. The company’s silicone cables are designed for harsh vibration and temperature environments, flexibility to fit in very tight spaces, and low weight.

Renzhe Zhao, Ph.D., has assumed the role of technical manager of applications engineering at Henkel Corp.’s (www.henkel.com) Irvine, CA technical center. He has been with the company for the past five years, and has played a significant role in the development of the group’s applications engineering activities, as well as the establishment of package-level underfill testing procedures. Serving as lead engineer in the development of Henkel’s Hysol QMI718 die attach material, Zhao was instrumental in the in-house testing and evaluation of the material’s package performance, development, and marketing.


Brad Leland

Brad Leland has been appointed vice president of sales for Leviton Voice & Data Division (www.levitonvoicedata.com). With three decades of experience in the communications, data, and network industry, Leland most recently served as vice president of global channel sales at JDSU’s Communications & Test business group. For 19 years, he served at Fluke and Fluke Networks in various sales, market development, and marketing roles. Leland will have overall sales management responsibility for Leviton Voice & Data Division’s U.S. distribution sales team, and will oversee continued implementation of the company’s strategy to accelerate revenue growth and work closely with its key partners.

A newly completed expansion at Positronic Industries’ (www.connectpositronic.com) design and manufacturing facility in Pune, India has added 20,000 square feet of space for engineering, R&D, tool and die fabrication, connector assembly, and precision lathe machining. A cable harness division is planned for the Pune facility, which began operations in 2005.

Interconnect distributor Power & Signal Group (www.powersignal.com) has named Kim Disandis director of business development to lead the company’s global marketing group. She will be responsible for acquisition management, and global supplier marketing and marketing communications. Previously, Disandis served for 17 years with Arrow Electronics, including nine years as general manger of the Cleveland, OH branch for Arrow Electronics Components (AEC).

Wade Harb has been appointed CEO at Sullins Electronics (www.sullinselectronics.com). Before joining Sullins, Harb served as vice president of business affairs at Artes Medical, and was corporate vice president of sales and marketing at MCSi Inc. Harb has more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, organizational development, and channel management. President Soussan Sullins says the company is “confident in his ability to accelerate the execution of our plans to increase our share of the world-wide market for Sullins’ and Micro Plastic’s full lines of edgecards, headers, bi-level, and CompactPCI connectors.”

Mindy Ogles has been named inside sales associate at fiberoptic connectivity manufacturer Timbercon (www.timbercon.com). With 13 years of experience in project management, Ogles will focus on account support and coordination, customer base growth, and account management for the storage, medical, telecommunications, and semiconductor industries.
