ELK GROVE VILLAGE, ILBlockMaster Electronics (www.blockmaster.com) has developed the Series DGSBID, a 4-way screwless insulation displacement terminal block built for flexibility in both design and field service applications.
Featuring a dual alternate entry, the Series DGSBID terminal block provides ‘no tools required’ installation options. Stripped wire can be inserted into a poke-home position, or unstripped wire can be pushed down between vertical V-shaped tangs that displace the insulation and produce a low-resistance, gas-tight connection. Both methods allow for termination of four wires in about 5/8-inch of space.
Typical applications include design of garage door openers, electronic ballasts, and thermostats, or for a variety of field uses where the devices can be a part of a technician’s toolbox.

These terminal blocks are available in 2 to 12 positions, handling wire gauges from 16 to 20 AWG, with solid conductors rated at 300 volts/4 amps. Housing is Polyamide 66 (UL94V-0), with an operating temperature range of -40° to 105° C. Terminal screws are tin-plated phosphor bronze.
The RoHS-compliant Series DGSBID is in stock for sample quantities at the Elk Grove Village warehouse. At press time, pricing for a 2-position unit was 40 cents in lots of 500 pieces.
