Assembled with a proprietary fiber optimized for high-power applications, including lasers, these copper alloy SMA-based connectors are designed to provide heat conductivity of 320 W/mK, allowing excellent passive heat transfer to the SMA socket and thus providing for sufficient heat sinking. Built for high-power diode laser modules and high-brightness solid-state lasers, as well as for cutting, plastic welding, and PCB board material hardening and soldering, the connector is available with fiber core diameters of 100, 200, 400, and 600 μm.

KEYED FIBER LC DEVICES

Designed for premises distribution networks and local area networks (LAN), Uniprise Keyed Fiber LC connectors and adapters include molded features on the plug and color-coded keys in the adapter that are designed to reduce the chance of unauthorized connection. Plug adapter colors must match the connector color in order to mount the adapters. Half the size of standard connectors, these devices are designed for simplified disengagement in compact spaces. Other features include RJ-style housing, duplex LC adapter mounts in the same footprint as a simplex SC adapter, a single-fiber ferrule, ceramic sleeves, and 10 keys in distinct colors.

FAST, NO-POLISH CONNECTIVITY

OptiSnap is a field-installable, no-epoxy/no-polish connector designed to be installed in less than a minute via the company’s patented mechanical splice technology. Especially suited for singlemode FTTx applications, maintenance and restoration of building cable, and multi-dwelling-unit (MDU) applications where setup and teardown time is critical, the OptiSnap installation system features a patented go/no-go feedback signal to confirm installation is performed correctly. When the fiber is inserted and the cam activated, a pass/fail light on the installation tool is illuminated. The factory-polished ceramic ferrule is built for excellent end-face geometry for consistent low insertion loss and high-performance return loss. OptiSnap is available in singlemode SC, ST, and LC versions, and features typical insertion loss of 0.2 dB for UPC versions and 0.4 dB for APC versions.

FastCam fiber-optic connectors now include LC and laser-optimized SC versions. These pre-polished devices are designed to provide simplified, precision mechanical termination of singlemode and multimode fiber without the need for special tools, epoxy, or hand-polishing. Meeting TIA/EIA performance and intermateability standards, the connectors are available in ST, SC and LC styles for termination on 250- or 900-μm cables in 50/125 and 62.5/125-μm and 50/125-μm laser optimized multimode and singlemode types.

REDUCED LC LENGTH

This Telcordia-compliant, reduced length LC connector for 1.6 to 2-mm cable features standard matched-cladding fiber, and a nearly 20% shortened length from ferrule tip to the back of the boot (from 52 mm in the standard design, down to 42.5 mm). The RoHS-compliant connector is designed to protect against mechanical damage when closing cabinet doors, and occupies less board space when plugged into a transceiver. It is available in singlemode and multimode kits, or cable assemblies.
