The HiLinx high-density printed circuit board (PCB) connector is made up of modules that can be freely assembled, held together by two stainless steel outer strips. Modules can be equipped with traditional electrical signal contacts, or coaxial, fiberoptic, or power contacts. Up to 11 modules can be aligned in HiLinx, taking into account two end modules containing the guides/codes and fastenings. A stacking layout without loss of contact provides full continuity in alignments with most well-known one-piece connectors. Spacing between signal contacts is 1.905 mm, in staggered row (modules can contain two, three, four, or six rows). Signal contacts use the Starclip principle, designed to provide tried and tested characteristics of reliability in compliance with the MIL-DTL 55302 standard.

Each five-row module provides 10 stamped-and-formed power contacts. Headers employ a blade contact structure, and the corresponding receptacle connectors use dual-beam contacts. An individual power blade is rated for 3 amps nominal continuous current, with current applied to all contacts providing 30 amps current-carrying capacity.
