Designed to offer three times the density of typical small-form-factor pluggable ports and supporting speeds up to 10 Gbits/sec per channel, the Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable (QSFP) interconnect system is built for switches, routers, and host bus adapters. Developed within the QSFP MSA (multi-source agreement), the system includes a 38-position, 0.8-mm pitch surface mount connector; cages with enhanced EMI springs designed to contain electromagnetic interference between cage-to-bezel and cage-to-module interfaces; short-reach copper cable assemblies, as well as active and passive assemblies to support Fibre Channel, Infiniband, and Ethernet.
