Investment in a new automated cable-assembly line enables IMS Connector Systems to offer shorter delivery times than in the past. The new line allows precise cutting, stripping, crimping, tin-plating, and assembling center contact, including cables with wide cross-sections. Cutting and stripping extremely thin cables-typically difficult and imprecise with manual assembly-is reliable and accurate, the company says.

The line can handle flexible-wire cables from 0.14 mm2 to 6 mm2, as well as standard RF cables from RG-178 to RG-142. Cable lengths between 150 and 5,000 mm are possible.
