SECURE SMALL-FORM-FACTOR SOLUTION

The secure Keyed LC Solution, a small-form-factor LC connector format, is designed for organizations that need to segregate networks due to privacy or security concerns. Based on the standard LC single-fiber connector, the Keyed LC provides a physical separation for up to four networks, applications, or organizations. Four color-coded key combinations prevent inadvertent or unauthorized access to a network, and provide easy network identification. On the front and back of the patch panel, keyed connectors and adapters are used to match access rights to the proper network. Key features in the connector and adapter cannot be duplicated with standard LC components. This connector supports up to 288 fibers in a 4U rack-mountable housing.

The HTP-TR4 Quad Port Hybrid transceiver is designed for 1 to 2.5 Gbits/sec multimode optical link applications, combining three critical design attributes for avionics equipment applications: a 1-square inch footprint that fits within a maximum height of 0.235 inches, full compliance with 1×/2× FiberChannel standards, and ruggedness to withstand avionics vibration and shock requirements. Its optical interface is a polyimide optical flex pigtail cable terminated into an industry-standard 1 × 12 MT connector. The Hybrid is inserted with 15 pounds of force to a surface-mount BGA socket soldered to the application card, which includes an integrated retaining clip for high-vibration environments. (Note: This product is expected to be available in April.)

The Lynx CustomFit Splice-On connector is a cross-compatible splice-on connector for customized FTTH/FTTP, outside plant, and field terminations. Compatible with a wide array of splicer and fiber holder brands, the connector eliminates the need for users to invest in specialty splicing equipment, reducing cost of ownership. According to the company, the connector’s termination eliminates the need to predetermine the length of preterminated jumpers required for a given application, letting the field technician customize termination in the field with accurate and permanent connectorizations.

This line of sealed circular LC ODVA-compliant fiberoptic connectors carry an IP67 environmental sealing rating, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial Ethernet connection applications. A rugged housing and connector coupling are designed to protect the interface from physical factors and conditions found in many industrial environments, including moisture, temperature and humidity extremes, and many chemicals and corrosive gases. These connectors include singlemode and multimode plugs and receptacles, as well as assembly bases and caps for plugs and receptacles. According to the company, the connectors meet Telcordia, TIA and EIA specifications, and include bayonet-style mechanical locking and UL 94V-0 materials. The bulkhead receptacle has a dual-mounting feature designed to allow mounting from either side.
