Dale Reed, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Stratos International, has been appointed president for the International Institute of Connector and Interconnect Technology (IICIT; iicit.org). Other new officers include David Ryan of PMX Industries, treasurer Anthony Romeo of Sunbank Corp., and secretary Douglas Parker of Greenlee-Trextron Tempo Operations. IICIT has refocused its mission to include teaching design and manufacturing engineers established and time-proven interconnect technology theory and practices, as well as the collegial sharing of cutting-edge initiatives.

Newark InOne (www.newarkinone.com), a small-quantity distributor of electronic components, test equipment and RoHS solutions, has named DeWight Wallace to succeed Paul Tallentire as president, effective March 1. Tallentire will return to the U.K. to become president of Newark InOne’s sister distributor, Farnell InOne. Most recently, Wallace has been general manager of MCM Electronics, and has served in a number of senior engineering, management and consulting roles for Texas Instruments, General Motors, and General Electric. As vice president/marketing for GE Capital, he was part of the team that won the GE Chairman’s Award for earnings turnaround.
Amphenol Corp. (www.amphenol.com) has promoted R. Adam Norwitt to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer. In his new role, Norwitt will serve under chairman and CEO Martin Loeffler, and will focus on enhancing Amphenol’s growth in new technologies and markets. He will also seek to further strengthen and expand the company’s existing business, particularly in international markets. Norwitt has held a variety of management, business development, and operating positions in Amphenol operations in Asia and the United States since joining the company in 1998. He most recently served as a senior vice president and as group general manager of Amphenol’s worldwide RF and microwave products operations.
