FCI, Molex in tussle over patent

Feb 1, 2007

FCI (www.fciconnect.com) and Molex (www.molex.com) each have taken legal action against the other in a patent-infringement battle over Molex’s recently introduced I-Trac connectors.

Molex reports that it filed suit on January 25 against FCI in the U.S. District Court in Nevada, seeking a declaratory judgment that its I-Trac connectors are not covered by FCI’s shieldless connector patents. It further seeks an injunction against FCI’s assertions that the connectors do in fact infringe on such patterns.

FCI reports that it filed a patent-infringement suit against Molex in the U.S. District Court in Delaware on January 26. The patents FCI is claiming have been infringed upon are based on connectors that include its AirMax VS product line. The suit seeks an injunction and damages.
