BOARD-STACKING SOLUTIONS
![]() |
B2B high-density SMT connectors for 1.27-mm pitch surface-mount board stacking applications employ screw-machined terminals with multi-finger contacts, and the company’s proprietary solder ball terminal design. With a current rating of 3 amps per pin, the connectors allow more contacts to be assigned to data/signal transfer, since fewer pins are sacrificed for power/ground. Especially suited for blind-mating applications, these devices, coupled with a completely redesigned precision-molded LCP insulator, are built to provide a durable contact system.

HARSH ENVIRONMENT INTERCONNECTS
![]() |
Impedance-matched #8 and #12 Quadrax interconnects are designed for harsh environment military applications. An integrated alignment feature is designed to prevent bending of pins in the field, which eliminates tolerance and positioning issues typically associated with the scaling down of military connectors to improve density. These high-speed assemblies feature a reduced size and weight of about 30% over comparable devices. According to the company, by controlling impedance and minimizing jitter, the Quadrax assemblies provide superior signal fidelity, and are optimized for higher data-rate applications.

NETWORKING SFP CONNECTORS, CAGES
![]() |
The E81 line of small-form-factor pluggable (SFP) connectors and cages are especially designed for use in Ethernet networking applications, including blade servers, routers, and add/drop multiplexers. The SFP cages are constructed so as not to deform during press-fitting, and are available in through-hole or press-fit configurations. The connectors can handle optical transceiver links as well as transceivers configured to operate at traditional copper RJ-45 connectors. Cages handle speeds up to 5 Gbits, and are designed to improve connectivity in high-density PCB environments. According to the company, the cages reduce transceiver operating temperature, prevent the transceiver from emitting electromagnetic interference, and provide mechanical stability. The cage is made of copper alloy with nickel plating, which prevents oxidation. Holes allow for air circulation and heat transfer, ensuring that the transceiver temperature stays at less than 70° C.

STACKED BOARD-TO-BOARD DEVICES
![]() |
The Minipak family of board-to-board power connectors now includes a stacked connector with customized insulator options, and a DualBlade contact designed to reduce connector length and conserve PCB real estate. IDC ribbon cabling shifts signal interconnects to the upper portion of the connector to customize the insulator and reduce connector length. DualBlade contacts are designed to shorten the connector length by dividing the same level of power between the two separate blade sides contained within the space typically used by one full power blade. According to the company, the DualBlade contact feature is especially useful when separate current feeds and returns are desired for each differing voltage. Contact pitch can meet a variety of system requirements in 7.5-, 6.0- and 4.5-mm configurations.
