TE Connectivity (TE) has signed a partnership agreement for Talley, Inc. to distribute its cell site connectivity solutions throughout North America. Talley is among the nation’s largest distributors of wireless infrastructure components and systems; the partnership brings additional presence to TE’s full-line product portfolio within the mobile network operator market.
“TE’s broad portfolio gives us a one-stop source of products for cell site connectivity and other applications,” said Pat Flynn, vice president of market development at Talley, Inc. “We believe that our market presence and service model along with TE’s high-quality connectivity solutions provide real advantages for our customers.”
TE says its product line of infrastructure solutions for end-to-end telecommunications wireless connectivity covers all areas of the wireless network, including outside plant backhaul, base station connectivity and radio access network (RAN) environments. The TE cell site connectivity products are designed help mobile operators to construct a flexible and sustainable network infrastructure base, speed up network deployment and expansion, reduce the complexity and total cost of deployment, reduce longer-term operating expenses and simplify ordering processes.
Along with TE’s widely deployed fiber and copper infrastructure systems, key components of TE’s cell site connectivity solution include:
-- Rapid Fiber Panel with Indoor/Outdoor Cable – a fiber distribution panel with an internal fiber cable spool that allows the installer to pay out exactly the amount of cable needed for faster, more economical fiber deployment and built-in slack cable storage. Panel models are available with 12-fiber, 3.6mm cable in increments of 100’ with total cable lengths up to 1,000’
-- Flexible Fiber Box (FFB) – a modular aggregation and demarcation box that can be factory-or-field- configured for spliced, connectorized, or multi-connectorized applications. The FFB provides future expandability without running additional fiber from the backhaul into the cell site or from the base station to the radio heads, resulting in reduced labor costs, weight and cable congestion. The solution can be mounted in a variety of applications, including walls, H-frames, and towers, which helps standardize deployment components
-- Flexible Fiber Box w/ RapidReel Fiber Cable Spool – all the benefits of the FFB with a built-in cable spool that allows the installer to pay out exactly the amount of cable needed for faster, more economical fiber deployment. The spool deploys up to several hundred feet of single or dual 12-fiber indoor/outdoor micro cable (3.6 mm) and provides built-in slack cable storage
-- Passive Optical Monitoring Solutions – allow non-intrusive optical monitoring of uplink and downlink cell site traffic, greatly reducing the time necessary to locate failure points or signal degradation. TE offers a wide range of split ratios for varying applications
“TE Connectivity’s flexible cell site solutions help service providers prepare for future growth by offering products built to fit a variety of applications and cell site types,” said Jaxon Lang, vice president of Telecom Networks Americas at TE. “By partnering with one of the nation’s leading distributors of cell site connectivity products, we can bring these innovative solutions to market through more channels than ever before.”
