EXTENDED WALL CONNECTORS

The extended-wall Datamate connectors allow less-expensive back potting as an effective alternative to overmolding the connectors. Both male and female jack-screw connectors include the deeper connector shell that prevents moisture or debris contamination of the contact area. These connectors are currently designed into a U.S. Navy anti-torpedo system, and derive their reliablility from the four-finger beryllium copper contact design and high-vibration latching options. They have been used successfully for challenging applications in avionics, military, medical, and marine electronics.

These spring-loaded connectors now include three families of single- and double-row strip assemblies for 0.100" mounting grids, and come in low- and high-profile surface-mount styles. They come available in sizes from 0.137" to 0.430" on carrier tape and a through-hole style for manual placement. The precision-machined gold-plated components and low-resistance spring maintain maximum continuity and a consistent electrical path. The connectors are tested to a minimum of 50-G shock and 10-G vibration with no spikes at >1 μs and >1.15 V with an applied 0.5 A.

The EMC-XLR cable connectors are designed for noise-safe audio signal connection. The connectors help decrease audio noise caused by RF interference. The connectors are comprised of three-pole male/female XLR cable connectors with integrated LC filters, which avoid RD interference and LF noise. A 360° shield contact on the female connector ensures shielding and chassis contact. These connectors solve problems such as ground loops, RF interference, Pin-1 problems, and more. They are useful for RF-sensitive live and on-stage applications, as well as mission-critical installations, such as recording studios.

OPTICAL TERMINI

The HD1.25-mm optical termination method (terminus) is well suited for a range of aerospace and defense applications where a common terminus for all types of connections is required. The HD1.25-mm termini connect high-density, low-cost fiberoptic connectors. The combination of simplicity, robustness, and small geometries compare well with traditional MIL-T-29504 termini. With the HD1.25-mm termini, a single terminus design can be used for all connectors. A pull-resistant design is used, and no strain relief is required on the backshell.

MEMORY MODULE SOCKET

These vertical memory module sockets accept industry-standard fully buffered dual in-line memory module (DDR2 FB-DIMM) assemblies to allow memory expansion in new-generation enterprise servers. The FB-DIMM interface uses high-speed serial differential signaling to increase both memory capacity and bandwidth in future server, storage subsystem, workstation, and communications platforms. The connectors provide mechanical voltage keying and end latches for module retention and ejection. Socket latches include complementary features to accommodate module end notches as defined in MO-256. The enhanced card-edge contact design protects against stubbing, and provides a high-speed interface designed for data rates extending to 4.8 Gbit/s.

The Power Edge high-current connectors are designed for direct mating to a 1.58-mm-thick, double-sided card-edge PCB or bus-bar tab. Power Edge connectors can be combined (stacked end-to-end) to mate with multiple bus bar tabs or card edges up to 8" for power distribution applications. The Power Edge contact is rated for up to 40 A, offering a higher current rating for increased power or safety factors. The contact incorporates elements of high-performance copper alloy and gold plating, with redundant interface points for optimum mating with double-sided card-edge contacts.

The LC fiberoptic keystone module connectors are cost-effective and time-saving for all small-form-factor applications. The keystone LC modules are HD-compatible and designed to mix with all existing faceplates and multimedia panels. For maximum value, the LC connectors will fit into all HD faceplates, Decorex-style inserts, and HD patch panels to maximize connectivity in tight quarters.

The G37 12-channel DT12 connectors feature a hard anodized aluminum backshell that locks in place with two set screws into a series of castellations. The set screws and castellation prevent accidental loosening of the connector shell, extending operating life. The male connector shell is constructed from stainless steel to prevent damage and keyway wear. The crack-proof Neoprene insulator features a bonded and scalloped design that prevents rotation. The G37 connectors are also weather-tight for use in remote and hostile environments.

These D-subminiature, metal-version connectors feature a push-pull locking (or Automated Latch) mechanism with an IP69 K maximum protection. The connectors are vibration-, water-, and shock-proof to withstand extremely harsh environments. They are recommended for military, avionics, automotive, marine, submarine, and industrial applications, as well as applications requiring a highly secured connection. They are available in different shell sizes and contacts with a 2- and 5-A current rating, operating at -40°C to 105°C.

The LuxCis Termini 38999 fiberoptic connector system enables a high channel density and optical performance in both single-mode and multimode. The LuxCis termini is a common optical pin that can be used in a variety of connector systems, including MIL-STD38999, ARINC, EPX, and custom adapters to an LC interface. The system features 1.25-mm ferrules that support compact channel spacing for smaller shell sizes, and the density to offer up to 32 channels in one connector.

Ideal for military applications, the WSO right-angle push-pull connectors have a broached body, which increases resistance to unintentional rotation of the contact block. The plugs are available in five different sizes, and have a pin range of two to 27 unsealed to sealed per IP68. The possibility of customizing the cable orientation in four different directions provides greater flexibility for space-limited applications.
