IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries (Bannockburn, IL), a global trade association, recently honored Gene Weiner, Weiner & Associates, and Vern Solberg, Micro Electronic Engineering Services, with the 2005 Raymond E. Pritchard IPC Hall of Fame Award at IPC Printed Circuits Expo, APEX, and Designers Summit 2006 in Anaheim, CA. The award is IPC’s highest level of recognition, honoring members who make extraordinary contributions to IPC and the electronic interconnection industry. In addition, IPC also announced the election results of new officers and directors. Three officers were elected, Jim Herring, president and CEO, Circuit Service (Wheeling, IL), as chairman; Mike Buscher, president, Assembléon America (Alpharetta, GA), as vice chairman; and Paul Langston CEO, Coretec (Ontario), as secretary/treasurer. The officers and directors will serve a two-year term through December 31, 2007.

International Engineering Consortium (IEC) Fellow and senior board member Karl Martersteck presented the IEC Fellow Award to Dr. T. J. Rodgers, founder, president, chief executive officer, and director of Cypress Semiconductor (San Jose, CA), before his keynote address at DesignCon 2006 in Santa Clara, CA. The award is presented to individuals who have provided the industry with a “superior level of sustained, significant service in the fields of education, technology, and industry leadership.”

Enthone, a business of Cookson Electronics, (West Haven, CT), a supplier of high-performance specialty chemicals and coatings used in the electronics and surface-finishing industries, announced recently that Jason Maupin has been appointed U.S. director of sales. Maupin will be responsible for leading the Enthone U.S. sales and technical service team, serving the electronics and surface-finishing industries.

RNT (Hunt Valley, MD), which develops and manufactures NanoFoil to control the release of heat energy for reaction initiation and joining applications, recently announced the addition of several new executives. John J. Hannafin has been hired as vice president of business and development and marketing, Bill Gallagher as vice president of sales, and Samuel M. Krupsaw as vice president of finance.

Universal Instruments (Binghamton, NY), a global electronics productivity specialist, has announced recently the appointment of Peter Bollinger as director of European operations, effective from January 2006. Operating from Universal’s offices in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt, Bollinger took over the role from Brad Bennett, who has relocated back to Universal Instruments’ Binghamton facility. In his new position, Bollinger assumes direct responsibility for all sales and service activities in Europe, continuing the progressive approach of his predecessor.

Sager Electronics (Weymouth, MA) an electronic distributor, announced recently the addition of Mike Zadravec to its product marketing management team. As director of corporate product marketing, power products, Zadravec will be responsible for growing the company’s power and thermal business. In addition, Paul Kopp has also been promoted to director of distribution and logistics. In this role, Kopp will directly manage and develop operational resources.

Palomar Technologies (Carlsbad, CA), a supplier of automated high-precision assembly systems, announced recently that Bruce W. Hueners has been named company president. Hueners joined Palomar Technologies in 1981 when it was Hughes Aircraft, and most recently held the position of COO.

Greenlee, a Textron Company (Rockford, IL), a developer of tools for the installation of wire and cable, announced recently the promotion of Martha Kness, Matt Sisco, and Bill Shulha to key vice president positions on his staff. Kness has been promoted to vice president, marketing. Sisco has been promoted to vice president, specialty channels. Shulha, currently vice president, North American sales, will oversee the wholesale national account managers for electrical, tool house, and catalog, and the North American distribution regional management team.

Anderson Power Products (Sterling, MA), a developer of power interconnect solutions, announced recently the franchise of Systems Material Handling (SMH) as master distributor, serving the material handling and motive power markets. SMH has recently constructed a 230,000-sq-ft. corporate headquarters and warehouse in Olathe, KS.
